Park or UBER to Rupp Arena Event?!?

IMG_5393Ok, so you have tickets to the UK game or Rupp Arena event and have considered driving downtown thru heavy traffic to search for free parking like Pac-Man or Mrs. Pac-Man searching for a Power Pellet being chased by ghost. Problems arise when everybody else is trying to doing the same thing to navigate the maze of downtown in around the time of event to find a free parking space.

Some solutions could be to go downtown early, park for free somewhere, eat dinner, enjoy the game and then go home or just flat out pay for parking. Another consideration would be to checkout the UBER fare estimator at and do a price comparison between UBER fares and parking prices.

For example, the Bamberger Family from Hamburg could expected to pay $11-$27 one way for their downtown event. The variation in price is due to peak time charges and/or type of vehicle request (i.e., SUV vs Sedan). Lyft may have similar costs; however, no data on their rates is available at this time.

If you want lower UBER or Lyft prices, travel early before the game, enjoy a nice dinner with your companion(s) and do the same afterwards to kill time like go for a walk downtown and grab a dessert to eat.

This message does not promote UBER or Lyft. This messages intent is to provide you the reader options to enjoy one of many delights in Central Kentucky.
